Detailed information on sections of the Workspace Homepage's Topbar

The Topbar and its options are based on member roles. Let's explore these for a better understanding.

The Topbar navigation scope is as follows:
Workspace Logo / Community Scope / Community Pages and Campaign Pages Scope

1. Workspace Logo -
It is a persistent logo that will navigate the members to the Workspace Homepage. NOTE: Workspace admin may choose to redirect the Workspace logo to any page. Help article on Workspace Logo

2. Community Scope: It lists all the communities the logged in user is a member of. It allows to search these communities too.

3. Community Pages and Campaign Pages Scope: The dropdown will show - Home (Community Homepage), Community Landing page, Leaderboard and all the active campaigns available to the member.


Member

For a member, Topbar consists of the Workspace logo, Communities dropdown, Workspace search bar, Inbox and Profile dropdown on Workspace homepage and Profile.



On the community pages, it will show additional options like Community search bar, Explore tab, Label, Alerts, Notification bell and Submit idea button.

  1. Workspace Logo: Clicking on the Workspace logo allows members to quickly return to the Workspace Homepage from any page within the Workspace or communities

  2. Communities Dropdown: 3 dots, along with a scroller next to the Workspace logo, represent the Community Dropdown. This dropdown displays all the communities that users are members of and also allows them to search through them.



  3. Workspace Search bar: The search bar allows member to search for Communities, Campaigns or Members within the workspace.Help article on Workspace Search Tool.

    It appears only on Workspace homepage and Profile page.


  4. Community Search bar: It helps in an easy and quick search for ideas, campaigns and members using various filters. It allows searching the ideas based on one or multiple filters like time frame, labels, stages, tags, moderator tags, and custom fields. Help Article on Community Search bar.

  5. Explore Tab: It shows all the community's custom pages that are allowed to be displayed in the Explore tab. Note: It appears only on Community pages.
  6. Labels: It shows all the system and custom labels applied to the community's ideas. These are clickable, and clicking on them navigates to the list of ideas labelled with them. Note: It appears only on Community pages.
  7. Alerts: It shows all the actionable items waiting for member's action like draft ideas, Community member profile questions to be completed and ideas awaiting stage actions. Note: It appears only on Community pages.
  8. Notifications: The bell icon shows all the in-app notifications for the community. Help article on In-app notifications. Note: It appears only on Community pages.
  9. Inbox: The envelope on the top bar is Message inbox. It shows all the unread messages and buttons for navigating to all messages and composing new ones. Help article on Messages.


  10. Submit idea button: It is Submit button for idea submission. Click on it to pull up a fresh idea submission form. Note: It appears only on Community pages.
  11. Profile Dropdown: The Profile dropdown consists of the Profile navigation section, Help, New features, Dark Mode and Log Out.

  • Profile navigation section - It shows the avatar, display name and username. Clicking on this section navigates the user to their profile.  Help article on Profile Page
  • Help - The Help section will take the user to the IdeaScale support centre.
  • New Features - This section navigates to the New Features announcement page.
  • Dark Mode - This switch allows between Dark and Light interface for the pages within the workspace.
  • Logout - This will log out the member from the workspace.

Workspace Translation Moderator

The Workspace Translation moderator is a standard member with extra access to the Translation Dashboard.

The Workspace Translation moderators do not have any special access on a community level. They are treated as normal/standard members.


Workspace Administrator

The Workspace administrator has access to additional features on the Workspace topbar, in addition to those available to regular members.

  1. App Icon (Workspace level):  Includes links for navigating to Manage Workspace, Reporting and Analysis, and Member Management.

  2. Apps Icon (Community level): On the community pages, it will show the Apps icon with Community Settings, Member Management, Idea Portfolio, Incoming Moderation, Reporting& Analysis and IdeaScale Whiteboard if they are a part of the community.

  3. Profile Dropdown - Workspace administrator can use the Display as Member option to view the landing page as a standard member, without admin sections/settings.
