Moderator Dashboard (Incoming Moderation)

The Moderator Dashboard organizes every idea and comment added to a community into a single view so a Moderator can respond to each submitter or commenter, helping community members feel heard and their input valued.

Role Permissions

1. Community Moderator: Accesses the Moderator Dashboard from Workspace Homepage >> Navigation Panel >> Moderation to view, link, sort, and manage ideas and comments assigned to them.

Three main sections of the page

The Moderator Dashboard is divided into three sections:

1. Left Column: Displays a vertical list of all incoming content, organized into an Ideas tab and a Comments tab.

    2. Center Section: Displays a chatbox-style area for responding to and managing                ideas and comments as they arrive in the community.

    3. Right Column: Displays additional information, including sentiment analysis, idea            author information, and any linked ideas. This column can be expanded or                      minimized to streamline linking.

Mark all as Seen and Seen Idea

The Moderator Dashboard provides a Mark all as seen option to mark ideas as seen in bulk, and a Seen Ideas section where marked ideas become visible.

The Mark all as seen button appears at the bottom left of the page, and the Seen Ideas button appears at the bottom right.

To mark all ideas as seen:

1. Select Mark all as seen.
2. Select Yes on the confirmation message. All ideas are marked as seen.

Select Seen Ideas to view every idea that has been marked as seen. See Exceptions below for how seen status and approvals behave when a community has multiple Moderators.

Exceptions

1. Multiple Moderators in a Community: When an idea or comment is marked as seen, that status applies only to the Moderator who marked it; other Moderators continue to see the item in the Unseen section. If one Moderator approves an idea or comment, that Moderator sees it under Seen Ideas, while other Moderators no longer see the option to approve it but continue to see the idea listed under Unseen.

Frequently Asked Questions

If a Moderator marks an idea as seen, will other Moderators in the same community also see it as seen?

No. Seen status applies only to the Moderator who marked the idea, so other Moderators continue to see that idea in the Unseen section.

Can more than one Moderator approve the same idea or comment?

No. Once one Moderator approves an idea or comment, other Moderators no longer see the option to approve it, though the idea remains visible to them under Unseen.

What information appears in the right-hand column of the Moderator Dashboard?

The right-hand column displays sentiment analysis, idea author information, and any linked ideas, and can be expanded or minimized to streamline linking.
