| What are Messages? |
| Messages are direct messages sent between members of a community, composed and managed from the Profile Page. |
Members can send a private message to another member either by selecting that member's name to open their profile, or by composing directly from their own Profile Page.
Role Permissions
- All Roles ( Administrators, Moderators & Members): Can send, receive, and manage private messages with other members from the Profile Page.

Ways to Send Message
A private message can be sent to another member in either of two ways:
- Message option on a member's profile page: Selecting a member's name navigates to that member's profile page, where the Message option opens a pop-up to compose the message.
- From the member's own Profile Page: Navigate to Profile Page >> Messages >> Compose (Pen icon) to open the compose window directly.
Compose Message
The compose window includes the following fields:
- To: Typing a member's display name displays a list of matching results to select from; multiple members can be added to a single message.
- Subject: A subject line for the message.
- Body: The message content, which can be formatted using rich text editing.

Inbox
A member receiving a message sees a new message alert on the Activity Bell icon in the top bar.
Selecting View All Messages, or selecting the message itself, navigates to Profile Page >> Messages >> Inbox, where a Reply button is available to respond to the message directly.
Sent Messages
Messages sent by a member can be viewed under Profile Page >> Messages >> Sent (Blue Arrow Icon).
A sent message can be deleted by selecting the trash can icon, which appears when hovering over the message.
Email Notification
An email notification is also sent to the member receiving a message.

Can a message be sent to more than one member at a time?
Yes. Multiple members can be added to the To field of a single message.
How is a member notified of a new message?
A member is notified with a new message alert on the Activity Bell icon in the top bar and also receives an email notification.
Can the message body include formatting?
Yes. The Body field supports rich text editing.
Can a sent message be deleted?
Yes. A sent message can be deleted by selecting the trash can icon that appears when hovering over it in Sent Messages.
Where can a member view messages received from other members?
Under Profile Page >> Messages >> Inbox.
