What are System Labels?
System Labels are labels the platform generates automatically to indicate the status of an idea or comment, such as when it has been edited, marked as a duplicate, or submitted privately.

System Labels are distinct from Custom Labels, which Administrators create manually. Each System Label is tied to a specific idea or comment condition and is visible only to the members whose role or relationship to the item entitles them to see it.

Role Permissions

  1. Administrator: Creates Custom Labels in addition to the System Labels described in this article. System Labels themselves cannot be created, edited, deleted, or disabled.
  2. Moderator: Views the Abuse, Duplicate, Pending, and Recycling Bin labels, which are visible only to Moderators. Also views the Private and Private Comment labels alongside the idea submitter, and the Reported label on flagged comments.
  3. Translation Moderator: Verifies translated ideas, determining whether the Unverified Translation label continues to display.
  4. Idea Submitter: Views the Draft label on their own unpublished ideas and the Private label on ideas they submitted privately, in addition to the labels visible to all members.
  5. Community Member: Views the labels visible to all members on ideas and comments they have access to, including Edited, Selected, Implemented, In Reserve, Translated, Unverified Translation, Off Topic, Anonymous, Idea Submitter, Moderator, and Team Member.

Clickable Labels

Labels that an Administrator has allowed to be clickable can be selected the same way as tags, opening a list of every idea carrying that label. Clickable labels appear in the following locations:

1. Homepage

Members can select a label to view the list of all ideas with that label applied.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can System Labels be deleted or disabled?

No. Unlike Custom Labels, System Labels are generated automatically by the platform and cannot be deleted or disabled.

Who can see the Abuse label on an idea?

Only the Moderator of the community can see the Abuse label.

Can System Labels be used to filter ideas?

Yes, if an Administrator has made a label clickable. Selecting a clickable label on the Homepage, Moderator Dashboard, or Idea Portfolio filters the view to show only ideas carrying that label.

Are Custom Labels different from System Labels?

Yes. System Labels are generated automatically based on an idea's or comment's status, while Custom Labels are created manually by Administrators. See the Help Article for Custom Labels for details.
