Explore the Future of Data Analysis with Our New Reporting Beta.
Announcing the IdeaScale Reporting Beta! We're opening up our new reporting tool to all customers for testing and feedback beginning February 20th. This release empowers you to build custom reports and dashboards, giving you complete control over your data analysis. Learn more about the key features and how to participate in the beta below. Additionally, see the bottom of this release note for more FAQs on our Reporting open beta.
Custom Report Builder
Our new Reporting tool allows user to build completely custom reports from dozens of datasets available in IdeaScale. Users are able to customize the data they are tracking, input a custom timeframe, and visualize their data with multiple easy to read report types. Closer to the production release, we will be launching more support materials that include all of the different report types, datasets, and filters available with this tool.
Each report is build out of the following components:
- Report Type
- Data Category
- Time Frame
- X axis
- Y axis
Additionally, reports can be filtered using our new filtering system to gain even deeper insights into your data. Filter will be selectable based on the data category that is selected when building your report.
Why are custom reports beneficial? Because they give you total control over your data. Instead of being limited by pre-made reports that might not show you what you need, you can build exactly what you want. Custom reports let you ask the tough questions and get the answers you need to make smart decisions about your IdeaScale workspace. No more guessing – just clear, actionable insights.
Customizable Dashboards
To enable dynamic data visualization, users can add multiple reports to a custom dashboard. This dashboard enables users to track multiple reports at a glance to gain a better overview of their IdeaScale Data. The beta will launch with multiple pre-made reports and dashboards so users can easily understand how these function.
Why are dashboards a game-changer? Because they save you time and make it easier to see the big picture. Instead of digging through multiple reports, you can see all your key metrics in one place. This makes it super simple to spot trends, identify potential problems, and track your progress towards your goals. Dashboards give you a real-time snapshot of your workspace health, so you can stay ahead of the curve and make sure everything is running smoothly.
Shareable Data
All of the reports and dashboards in the new IdeaScale Reporting tool can be sharable both internally and externally via email or export. Email sharing will not be available at the launch of the beta but will be coming as a part of this project. Data is only useful as long as it is sharable and actionable, and we want to make that a reality for all IdeaScale Reporting users!
Reporting Beta FAQs
With the release of this open beta, it's important we address some commonly asked questions about the release. Please see below to learn more about the beta release and feel free to reach out to our support team with any additional concerns.
When is the Reporting beta releasing?
- The Reporting beta is scheduled to release on February 20th 2025.
Who will have access to the Reporting beta?
- On the initial release date, the Reporting beta will be active for Workspace Admins only. In the weeks following the release, we will add access for all other Admin and Moderator roles.
How long will the beta period run for?
- The beta period is scheduled to run for 2-3 months, and will close no later than May 15th 2025. We may end the beta period earlier than that date, in which case we will provide advanced notice to all customers using the Reporting beta.
What does being in "beta" mean? What kind of changes can we expect during the beta?
- Being in "beta" means beta means we're still actively developing and improving the product based on internal plans and user feedback. During this phase, you might encounter some bugs or changes, but your input will be invaluable in shaping the final product. Please feel free to send us feedback on the beta on ideas.ideascale.com!
What changes can we expect with the Legacy Reporting tool?
- The Legacy Reporting tool will remain active for all that have access until the end of the beta period. Once the beta period is closed and the new Reporting tool completes a full launch, we plan to deprecate the Legacy Reporting tool.
