What are Moderator Campaign Digest Emails?
Moderator Campaign Digest Emails are automated summary emails sent to Community, Campaign, and Group Moderators that report campaign performance and list ideas, comments, and members awaiting approval since the moderator's last visit.

The Moderator Campaign Digest Email is sent on a default Monthly frequency and covers the engagement and approval activity for each campaign the moderator oversees. A moderator can change the frequency to Weekly or opt out of the digest entirely from their own notification settings.

Role Permissions

  1. Community Administrator: Sets the default Moderator Notification Digest Frequency at Settings >> Community >> Email Settings >> General >> Digest Emails.
  2. Community Moderator, Campaign Moderator, Group Moderator: Receive the digest for the communities, campaigns, or groups they moderate, and can change the frequency or opt out from their own Profile >> Settings >> Notifications Settings >> Settings.

Digest Frequency

The default frequency for all Moderator Notifications is Monthly, set at Settings >> Community >> Email Settings >> Digest Emails >> Moderator Notification Digest Frequency by the Community Administrator.

The digest reports the performance of each campaign for the frequency period enabled by the moderator, covering the Engaged Members, Ideas, Comments, Votes, Views, Implemented, and Selected Ideas metrics. It also lists any ideas, comments, and members awaiting approval since the moderator's last visit. The digest is organized into four sections for each campaign.

Campaign Performance

Displays the number of Engaged Members, Ideas, Comments, Votes, and idea views recorded during the digest period for the campaign. Selecting the For insights to this campaign View Activity Trends link opens the Reporting >> Engage page directly, with all filters preset.

Ideas Approval

Lists the ideas submitted since the last Moderator Digest Email, showing up to five ideas with each idea's title and submitter name. When more than five ideas are pending, a View and Approve link opens the remaining ideas. Selecting this link opens the Moderator Dashboard page showing the ideas awaiting approval.

Comment Approval

Displays the number of comments submitted since the last Moderator Digest Email, along with a View and Approve Comments link. Selecting this link opens the Moderator Dashboard page showing the comments awaiting approval.

Member Approval

Displays the number of members awaiting approval who have joined the community since the last Moderator Digest Email, along with a View and Approve Members link. Selecting this link opens the Member Management page showing the members awaiting approval.

Highlights of Moderator Digest Email Notifications

  1. Activity Trends Link: The For insight to this campaign view Activity Trends link, below Campaign Performance, opens the Engagement Report with all filters preset.
  2. Weekly Comparison Logic: If the current week is week 33, the comparison shown is between week 31 and week 32 — the two prior weeks — not the current week.
  3. Approval Links: The links below Ideas Approval and Comment Approval open the Moderator Dashboard page, displaying the ideas or comments awaiting moderator approval.
  4. Member Approval Link: The Member Approval link opens the Member Management page, displaying the members awaiting approval.

In-App Notification

Screen-Recording-2025-08-05-at-1 (1)

An in-app notification is visible to the moderator once the Moderator Digest Email has been sent. Selecting the notification opens the digest in a pop-up window, which can then be shared by email with anyone within the community, or on social media, using the Share icon.

Exceptions

  1. Zero Campaign Performance With No Pending Items: When a campaign's Campaign Performance is 0 — as at the launch of a new community or campaign, or when a campaign has been inactive for two consecutive weeks — and there are no new or pending ideas, comments, or members, the Moderator Digest Email is not sent.
  2. Snoozed or Marked as Seen Ideas: Ideas that have been snoozed or marked as seen are not included in the digest.
  3. Zero Actual Numbers and Percentage Changes: When an active campaign's Campaign Performance section shows both actual numbers and percentage changes as 0, the digest includes only incoming ideas, comments, or pending members, and omits the Campaign Performance section.
