| Idea Sorting Filters are the set of options available within a community for arranging the idea list according to criteria such as recency, votes, or views. |
Idea Sorting Filters determine the order in which ideas are displayed within a community and can be paired with different idea display formats to further tailor how the idea list appears.

Role Permissions
- Member: Views, sorts, and filters ideas using the available Idea Sorting Filters and Stage Score options while browsing a campaign.
- Community Administrator: Sets the default sorting option for ideas using Edit mode on the community homepage.

Idea Sorting Options
Selecting the arrow beside a sorting filter switches the sort direction between ascending and descending, depending on the filter chosen. The following filters are available:
- Trending: Sorts ideas by the number of recent idea views.
- Recent: Sorts ideas by the date the idea was submitted.
- Net Votes: Sorts ideas by the number of net votes received.
- Idea Views: Sorts ideas by the total number of idea views.
- Random: Displays ideas in randomized order to increase the visibility of ideas that might otherwise receive less attention.
Default Sorting Option
A Community Administrator can set a default sorting option for the ideas using the Edit mode on the community homepage.

Customizing Idea Display
In addition to sorting, ideas can be displayed using one of three view formats, selected from the display options positioned next to the sorting filters:
- Grid view: Displays ideas in a grid layout rather than a list.
- List view: Displays additional information for each idea.
- Compact view: Displays each idea in compact form, allowing more ideas to appear within the list at once.
Stage Score Sorting
When navigating to ideas within a specific stage, an additional sorting option called Stage Score becomes available. Stage Score sorting uses criteria specific to each stage's function:

- Ideate: Sorts by Net Votes, the same criteria used by the Net Votes option under Idea Sorting Options.
- Build Team: Not available for this stage.
- Refine: Not available for this stage.
- Estimate: Sorts by highest ROI.
- ReviewScale: Sorts by highest Impact Ratio.
- Fund: Sorts by the most funded ideas.
- Assessment: Sorts by ideas with the highest Overall Rating.
- Reserve: Not available for this stage.
