Subscribing/Following a Campaign

Steps to subscribe/follow a campaign

Path: Workspace Homepage >> Navigation Panel >> Campaign Management >> Campaigns

What is Subscribing/Following a Campaign?
Subscribing/Following a Campaign is a feature that allows members to stay updated on a specific campaign by receiving email notifications for new ideas, new comments, and idea stage changes within that campaign.

Any authenticated member of the community can subscribe to or unsubscribe from a campaign at any time. Submitting an idea to a campaign automatically subscribes the submitter to that campaign.

Role Permissions

  1. Member: Can subscribe to or unsubscribe from any campaign; automatically becomes a campaign subscriber upon submitting an idea to the campaign.
  2. Community Administrator: Can view the display name, username, and subscription date/time of hidden subscribers in the campaign subscriber list. See Exceptions below for cases where this access does not apply.
  3. Moderator: Cannot view hidden subscribers in the campaign subscriber list.

Subscribing/Unsubscribing to a Campaign

  • Navigate to the desired campaign and select Subscribe to the campaign, located on the right side beneath the campaign banner.

  • Once subscribed, the link changes to Unsubscribe from the campaign. Selecting this link stops idea and comment notification emails for that campaign.

Note: An idea submitter automatically becomes a campaign subscriber. See Role Permissions above.

Note: If a subscriber has hidden their identity in the community, other members see the correct subscriber count but do not see that member listed. See Exceptions below.

Exceptions

  1. Hidden Identity: If a subscriber has hidden their identity in the community, the Community Administrator can still view that member's details in the campaign subscriber list; Moderators cannot.
  2. Community-Wide Anonymity: When Community-Wide Anonymity is enabled, the subscriber list link is greyed out and not visible to any member, including the Community Administrator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does submitting an idea automatically subscribe a member to the campaign?

Yes. An idea submitter automatically becomes a subscriber/follower of the campaign the idea was submitted to, and can select Unsubscribe from the campaign to stop receiving notifications for it.

What email notifications does a campaign subscriber receive?

A campaign subscriber receives email notifications when a new idea is submitted to the campaign, when a new comment is submitted on an idea in the campaign, and when the stage of an idea in the campaign changes.

Who can see the list of a campaign's subscribers?

All authenticated members of the community can see the campaign subscriber list, including each subscriber's display name, username, and subscription date and time, unless Community-Wide Anonymity is enabled (see Exceptions).

Can a Moderator view hidden subscribers in the subscriber list?

No. Only the Community Administrator can view the details of subscribers who have hidden their identity in the community, and only when Community-Wide Anonymity is not enabled.
