All about the upcoming Deunification
What is deunification?
Deunification is an IdeaScale infrastructure project.
What are the benefits of this project?
The biggest benefit is for administrators who have better security and controls over who can (and cannot) enter their communities. Later in the year, we will be rolling out a Workspaces project that will allow administrators to run reports across multiple communities. This Deunification project is a stepping-stone to help make this happen.
I have a single community what is the impact this project is going to have on me?
None.
My company has a few communities, what is the impact this project is going to have for me?
You and your members will no longer have the global login area (i.e. Personal Settings). Otherwise, there will be little to no impact on your members' experience. Your members will be able to log into each community individually as they already do.
Does this mean I won’t be able to use one login for multiple communities?
Generally, you will be able to use the same login/password across your multiple communities. However, there may be cases where you do need a new login for access to communities under another account (such as ideas.ideascale.com).
What does it mean when my company adds a new community?
No impact. You’ll use your same login to access any new community your company adds a new community.
Will I have to set a new password?
No.
What happens when I want to join a new community that is outside my company?
In this case, you WILL need to set up a login/password.
What about Single Sign-On?
If your community uses single sign-on in your community(s), there will be no change to the behavior. If you attempt to log into another community, you will need to create a new login/password (so the same behavior that we have now).
What do I need to do?
Nothing to do. No action will be required by the Administrator, Moderator, or Member.
