| Moving Ideas Between Campaigns is an Idea Portfolio action that relocates one or more ideas from their current campaign to a different campaign and stage. |
An idea submitted to one campaign sometimes turns out to be a better fit for a different, more relevant campaign. The Idea Portfolio provides two ways to handle this: moving a single idea at a time, or moving several ideas at once in bulk.
Role Permissions
- Community Moderator: Moves ideas from one campaign to another using the Idea Portfolio, either individually through the More option or in bulk using Advanced Search and Bulk actions.
Moving Selected Ideas
The Idea Portfolio allows a Community Moderator to transfer a specific idea from its current campaign to a different one. To do so, select the More option to open the dropdown menu, then select Move. Next, choose the destination campaign and specify the stage where the idea should be relocated.
Moving an idea to a campaign in a different funnel, or to an archived campaign, displays a system warning. See Exceptions below.
Moving All Ideas
Multiple ideas can be moved from one campaign to another at the same time. In Advanced Search, select the desired campaign, then select the ideas to move from the results. From Bulk actions, select Move. A list of available destination campaigns appears, along with their stage options.
All ideas selected in a single move are placed into the same stage. See Exceptions below to move ideas into different stages.
Exceptions
- Cross-Funnel or Archived Campaign Move: Moving an idea into a campaign that belongs to a different funnel, or into an archived campaign, displays a system warning.
- Bulk Stage Assignment: When multiple ideas are moved to a new campaign in a single action, all of the selected ideas are placed into the same stage. Moving ideas into different stages requires completing the move process separately for each stage.
- Custom Field Data Loss: Campaign-specific custom field responses attached to an idea are not retained if the idea is moved to a campaign with different custom fields. Exporting idea data or backing up custom field responses beforehand is recommended.

Who can move ideas between campaigns?
A Community Moderator can move ideas between campaigns using the Idea Portfolio. See Role Permissions above regarding other roles.
Can multiple ideas be moved to a new campaign at the same time?
Yes. Multiple ideas can be moved at once from the Idea Portfolio by selecting them in Advanced Search and using the Move option in Bulk actions.
Can ideas be moved into different stages within a single bulk move?
No. All ideas selected in a single move are placed into the same stage. To move ideas into different stages, the process must be completed separately for each stage. See Exceptions above.
What happens to custom field data when an idea is moved to a different campaign?
Campaign-specific custom field responses are not retained if the destination campaign has different custom fields than the original campaign. Exporting idea data or backing up custom field responses before moving is recommended. See Exceptions above.
Does the system warn before moving an idea to a different funnel or an archived campaign?
Yes. A warning is displayed when an idea is moved into a campaign that belongs to a different funnel or into an archived campaign. See Exceptions above.
