Predefined Moderator Tags

Predefined Moderator Tags support private, internal communication about ideas between Moderators and Reviewers. These tags are restricted to Moderators and authorized member groups and are not visible to general community members. Administrators can create Predefined Moderator Tags manually or import them in bulk, and can configure them independently at both the Community level and the Campaign level.

Role Permissions

1. Community Administrator: Creates, edits, and manages Predefined Moderator Tags and their permission settings at the Community level.
2. Campaign Administrator: Creates, edits, and manages Predefined Moderator Tags and their permission settings at the Campaign level.
3. Moderator: Applies Predefined Moderator Tags to ideas when the setting is enabled.
4. Authorized Member Groups: Apply Predefined Moderator Tags to ideas when granted access through the Allow Selected Groups to use Moderator Tags setting.

Settings

The Predefined Moderator Tags tab, available at both the Community level and the Campaign level, lists all pre-populated tags that Administrators have created for Moderators and authorized groups to assign to ideas. It can be switched on or off independently at each level from Settings.

Community Level Settings

To configure Predefined Moderator Tags at the Community level, navigate to Community >> Community Configuration >> Tags, then select Settings. This opens the Moderator Tag Permissions modal, which contains two options:

a. Allow Moderators to Select from Predefined Moderator Tags: Makes Predefined Moderator Tags available to Moderators and eligible users when tagging ideas, and updates the Predefined Moderator Tags tab label from Disabled to Enabled.

b. Allow Selected Groups to use Moderator Tags: Allows designated member groups to apply Predefined Moderator Tags to ideas, granting them controlled rights to add internal review and communication tags within the Community.

Campaign Level Settings

Campaign-level Predefined Moderator Tags can be configured from either of two locations:

• Community >> Campaigns >> Action (three dots) dropdown >> Edit >> Settings >> Idea Tags >> Predefined Moderator Tags
• Community >> Campaigns >> Action (three dots) dropdown >> Tags >> Predefined Moderator Tags

From either location, selecting Settings opens the Moderator Tag Permissions modal. Within this modal, the Campaign Administrator selects one of the following options to control how Moderators and authorized groups apply Predefined Moderator Tags:

1. Community and Campaign-Level Predefined Tags: Moderators and authorized groups can apply tags from both the Community-level predefined tag list and the Campaign's predefined tag list, supporting consistent tagging across the Community while still allowing Campaign-specific tags.
2. Only Campaign-Level Predefined Tags: Moderators and authorized groups can apply only the tags defined for that specific Campaign, supporting a focused, specialized tagging scheme kept separate from broader Community tags.

Creation of Tags

Administrators can create Predefined Moderator Tags at both the Community level and the Campaign level, supporting organization-wide consistency as well as Campaign-specific needs.

Import Tags

To streamline setup and avoid creating each tag manually, Administrators can import Predefined Moderator Tags in bulk using an Excel file. Bulk import is available for both Community Predefined Moderator Tags and Campaign Predefined Moderator Tags.

Tag Visibility

Predefined Moderator Tags appear to Moderators and authorized groups as a dropdown menu when selecting tags on the Idea Details page, within Idea Management, and on the Moderator Dashboard. From this dropdown, Moderators can select one or multiple tags from the predefined list to categorize each idea.

1. Idea Tagging Dependency: The Predefined Moderator Tags option is available at the Campaign level only after Idea Tagging is enabled for that Campaign.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Predefined Moderator Tags visible to general community members?

No. Predefined Moderator Tags are restricted to Moderators and authorized member groups; general community members cannot see them.

Can a member who is not a Moderator apply Predefined Moderator Tags?

Yes, if their member group has been granted access through the Allow Selected Groups to use Moderator Tags setting.

Are Campaign-level Predefined Moderator Tags shared across Campaigns?

No. Each Campaign's Predefined Moderator Tags list is specific to that Campaign, though other Campaigns may independently create similarly named tags.

What happens if a Campaign is set to use Only Campaign-Level Predefined Tags?

Moderators and authorized groups see only that Campaign's predefined tag list when tagging ideas — the Community-level predefined tag list is not available to them in that Campaign.
