[Workspace Configuration](https://help.ideascale.com/manage-workspace?hsLang=en#workspace-configuration) # Workspace General Info ## This article will help you understand all the settings in the General Info Settings ***Path: Workspace Homepage >> Navigation Panel >> Settings >> Workspace Info >> General  Info*** | **What is Workspace General Info?** | | --- | | Workspace General Info is the settings section where a Workspace Administrator manages core workspace details, including the Workspace Name, Workspace URL, Timezone, Date Format, Default Language, and member registration access. | The Workspace General Info settings allow a Workspace Administrator to edit or update core workspace details in a few clicks, using a single save action to apply changes. ***![general info copy](https://help.ideascale.com/hs-fs/hubfs/general%20info%20copy.jpg?width=444&height=404&name=general%20info%20copy.jpg)*** --- ### Role Permissions 1. **Workspace Administrator:** Can view and edit all Workspace General Info settings, including Workspace Name, Workspace URL, Timezone, Date Format, Default Language, and Allow Workspace Member Registration. 2. **Community Administrator:** Can override the Workspace-level Timezone, Date Format and Language default for an individual community. Changes to any field are applied using a single save action. **1. Timezone:** The Workspace timezone that best matches the organization's location and preferences. By default, this is set to America/Los\_Angeles and can be edited by the Workspace Administrator. The setting applies to all communities within the workspace, though a Community Administrator can change it for an individual community. Date Format:** The date format used throughout the workspace, based on Workspace Administrator's preference. The setting applies to all communities within the workspace, though a Community Administrator can change it for an individual community. Default Language:** The preferred language for the workspace interface. The setting applies to all communities within the workspace, though a Community Administrator can change it for an individual community. Community-Level Timezone Override: A Community Administrator can change the Workspace-level default Timezone for an individual community, overriding the Workspace Administrator's setting for that community only. 2. Community-Level Date Format Override: A Community Administrator can change the Workspace-level default Date Format for an individual community, overriding the Workspace Administrator's setting for that community only. 3. Community-Level Default Language Override: A Community Administrator can change the Workspace-level default Langauge for an individual community, overriding the Workspace Administrator's setting for that community only. --- ### Frequently Asked Questions #### Who can edit the Workspace General Info settings? A Workspace Administrator can edit the Workspace General Info settings. Whether other roles also have access is not confirmed in the source (see Role Permissions above). #### What happens when 'Allow Workspace Member Registration' is enabled? Enabling **Allow Workspace Member Registration** permits members to register for and join the workspace without needing an invitation. #### How are changes to the General Info settings applied?
