| Access Control is the set of Workspace Administrator settings that govern who can join and participate in the workspace, combining member approvals, IP-based restrictions, and content filtering. |
Access Control provides the ability to establish member approvals, enable automatic approvals or blocks based on IP address and email domain, and enforce profanity filtering and other participation policies within the workspace.
Role Permissions
- Workspace Administrator: Configures Access Control settings for the workspace and approves new members requesting to join the workspace when New Members Approval is enabled.

Approvals
The Approvals section controls how members gain access to participate in the workspace, through Moderator approval of new members, automatic approval or blocking by email domain, IP-based access restrictions, and controls on member-to-member invitations.
New Members Approval
When the New Members Approval switch is turned on, every new member registering for or joining the workspace first requires a Moderator's approval before participating in the community.

Auto Approval
Auto Approval allows the Workspace Administrator to set restrictions on members joining the workspace based on their email domain. Email domains can be auto-approved or blocklisted from this section.

Approved IPs
Approved IPs allows the Workspace Administrator to control access to the workspace based on IP (Internet Protocol) address. Only members accessing the workspace from the IP addresses defined here are allowed to view and participate.
Member to Member Invite
Member to Member Invite allows a member to invite another member to join the workspace. By default, invitations can be sent to any domain; the Workspace Administrator can instead restrict invitations to specific domains.

Blocklist
The Blocklist section allows the Workspace Administrator to automatically block specific email domains from registering and to filter inappropriate language within the community.
Auto Block
Members with email addresses from specified domains are automatically blocked from joining the workspace. Domains are listed in the field provided, for example @hotmail.com, @grr.com.
Note: A member attempting to register using a blocked email domain sees a message on the registration page preventing account creation, as shown below.
Profanity Filtering
Profanity Filtering allows the Workspace Administrator to prevent the use of specific abusive words, inappropriate keywords, and certain emojis within the community, maintaining a respectful and safe environment for all members.

What happens when New Members Approval is enabled?
New members registering for or joining the workspace must first be approved by a Moderator before they can participate in the community.
What happens if someone tries to register using a blocked email domain?
Registration is prevented. The Auto Block feature displays a message on the registration page indicating that an account cannot be created using that email domain.
Can Member to Member Invite be limited to certain domains?
Yes. Members can invite others from any domain by default, but the Workspace Administrator can restrict invitations to specific domains instead. (TO BE VERIFIED — see the note under Member to Member Invite above.)
What does Profanity Filtering control?
Profanity Filtering prevents the use of specified abusive words, inappropriate keywords, and certain emojis within the community.
