| Display as Member is a feature that lets an Administrator or Moderator temporarily switch their view to match a standard Member's, to preview community or campaign content exactly as an end user would see it. |
Display as Member gives Administrators and Moderators a way to check how community content, campaigns, and individual ideas appear to a standard Member, without needing a separate Member account. While active, the interface reflects only the options and privileges available to a Member; full administrative or moderation privileges are restored once the feature is turned off.

Switching to Member View
Enabling Display as Member
- Select the account name in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select Display as Member from the dropdown.
- A success message appears and the page reloads, now displaying the community or campaign from a Member's perspective.
Note: See Exceptions below for what happens if a session ends while Display as Member is active.
Restoring Full Privileges
- Select the account name in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select Restore Privileges.
- Full administrative or moderation privileges are restored immediately.
Effects While Viewing as a Member
While Display as Member is active, the interface changes depending on where the Administrator or Moderator is viewing.
On Workspace
The Navigation Panel is not visible while Display as Member is active on the Workspace.
On Community
On the Community homepage, selecting an idea's More (three dots) option displays only the Set Label, Follow Idea, Follow Author, and Print Idea options. Moderation options are not available.
Exceptions
- Logging Out While Active: If an Administrator or Moderator logs out of their account while Display as Member is active, the community still displays as a Member upon their next login, until Restore Privileges is selected.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does activating Display as Member change what other members see?
No. Display as Member only changes the view for the Administrator or Moderator using it. Other members' view of the community is not affected.
Does logging out turn off Display as Member?
No. As described in Exceptions above, the community continues to display as a Member on the next login, and remains that way until Restore Privileges is selected.
Are moderation options available while Display as Member is active?
No. As described in the On Community section above, an idea's More options are limited to Set Label, Follow Idea, Follow Author, and Print Idea; moderation options are not available.
