| Social Login is a workspace authentication feature that lets a new user register for or sign in to an IdeaScale community using an existing account from a supported social media or professional provider, rather than creating a separate IdeaScale username and password. |
Social Login improves the member experience by removing the need to create and remember a separate username and password combination for registering on a community or signing back in to it.
Role Permissions
- Workspace Administrator: Selects and enables which social login options — Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, and Apple — are available for the workspace within Social Login Settings.
- Community Administrator: Can enable or disable the social login options enabled by the Workspace Administrator on their community.
- Member: Registers for or signs in to the workspace using any social login option enabled by the Workspace Administrator.
Available Social Login Options
A Workspace Administrator has the flexibility to select from four popular social login options — Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, and Apple — within Social Login Settings. Enabling any of these options lets a new user register on the platform using a preferred social media account, streamlining the registration process and enhancing member convenience.
Member Login Experience
Once social login options are enabled in Social Login Settings, they are displayed on the workspace login page, giving a member the option to register or sign in using any of the enabled social accounts.
