| What is the Rich-Text Editor? |

| The Rich-Text Editor is a text formatting toolbar available throughout the platform that lets members and administrators apply formatting — such as bold, italics, lists, links, and embedded media — to text entered in a range of different fields. |
The Rich-Text Editor offers a wide range of formatting options and is available in several member-facing areas of the platform, as well as in a number of Workspace-level and Community-level administrative settings. It also supports Markdown syntax as an alternative way to apply the same formatting options.
Role Permissions
- Member: Uses the Rich-Text Editor in the Idea Description, Large Text Description custom field, Comments, Profile's Bio Section, and Private Messaging areas.
- Workspace Administrator, Community Administrator: Uses the Rich-Text Editor when configuring a range of Workspace-level and Community-level settings. See Administrator Settings below for the full list.

Formatting Options
The Rich-Text Editor provides the following formatting options: Bold, Italicize, Underline, Strikethrough, Unordered list (Bullets), Ordered list (Numbered), Indentation, Justification (Left, Right, and Centre), Quotes, Hyperlink, Video Embed, and Add Image.
Note: Images can also be copied and pasted directly into any area where the Rich-Text Editor is available.
