Path: Community Setting >> Security >> Access Restrictions >> Blocklist >> Profanity Filtering

The workspace admin can set up a list of words to block the members from using such kind of words or emojis from Workspace Homepage >> Manage Workspace >> Security>> Access Control >> Profanity Filtering
IdeaScale has a list of 7 words when used in the community will auto block the idea, comment or member name. Further curse words added by admin defined profanity filtering will be also done on tags, labels, idea attachment notes, assessment notes etc.
Words auto blocked would be f***, s***, a*****, d******, c***, vagina, and penis.
If users try to submit an idea containing profanity words it will be blocked, they will see a message on the idea submission form itself. The idea will not get submitted unless those words are removed from the idea.
Keyword Filtering
The administrator can enter additional words other than the default as profanity in the text field provided in the Keyword Filtering section. Those words, if used in an idea submission will not be auto blocked but instead, the idea will go in pending approval state for the community moderator to review.
1. Enter one additional word in one line then another in the next line, i.e. one word per line in the text field under profanity filtering.
2. Profanity filtering will work for 7 above-mentioned words in English. These words when translated in other languages, will not work. You have to input the words manually in your preferred language choice in the curse filter settings text field.
Emoji Filtering
Inappropriate emojis can also be restricted by adding them to the Emoji Filtering section and saving your changes.
