| Pin Comments to Top of Thread is a moderation feature that displays a comment above all other comments in a thread, regardless of the comment sorting order applied. |
When a Moderator comments on an idea, the new entry is typically displayed in-line with the other comments in the thread. Selecting Pin this comment on top of the thread overrides this default placement, displaying the comment above all existing comments regardless of how the thread is sorted, while the comment remains visible to all community members.
Role Permissions
- All types of Moderators: Pins a comment to the top of a thread and unpins a previously pinned comment.
- Member: Views pinned comments, which remain visible to all community members, but cannot pin or unpin a comment.

Pin a Comment at Submission
When submitting a new comment on an idea, selecting the Pin this comment on top of the thread option displays the comment above all other comments in the thread once posted, regardless of the comment sorting order.

Once posted, the pinned comment appears above all other comments in the thread with a pin icon and the name of the Moderator who pinned it. The comment also continues to appear in its original position within the comment thread.
Note: A pinned comment is visible to all community members, though only a Moderator can pin or unpin a comment.
Pin an Existing Comment
An existing comment can also be pinned to the top of the thread by selecting the Pin icon on that comment.
Unpin a Comment
Selecting the Unpin icon on a pinned comment removes it from the top of the thread.

Does a pinned comment still appear in its original position in the thread?
Yes. The comment continues to appear in its original position within the comment thread even after it has been pinned to the top.
Does the comment sorting order affect where a pinned comment appears?
No. A pinned comment is always displayed above all other comments in the thread, regardless of the sorting order applied to the thread.
Can community members other than Moderators see a pinned comment?
Yes. A pinned comment is visible to all community members, even though only a Community Moderator or Campaign Moderator can pin or unpin a comment. (TO BE VERIFIED — see Role Permissions.)
Are there multiple ways to pin a comment?
Yes. A comment can be pinned while it is being submitted, by selecting the Pin this comment on top of the thread option, or after it has been posted, by selecting the Pin icon on the existing comment.
