Steps to avoid emails going to Spam

Simple steps to follow so our emails do not end up in the spam folder. Following or ensuring these steps can help important emails from not going to spam.

  1. Inform members to Whitelist your emails.

  2. Add the email address "noreply@ideascale.com" to your contact list.

  3. Advise Gmail users to drag and drop all emails into the Primary tab. Doing so, a message will appear asking if you would like to do this for future messages from this sender. Select “Yes”.

  4. Creating filters is yet another step we can take to avoid our emails from going into spam.

Directions to set up filters for different accounts:

Outlook:
Add the email address to your Safe Senders list (under Tools > Options > Preferences > Junk E-mail). Also, check the option to "Automatically add people I e-mail to the Safe Senders List".

Yahoo:
You have to set up a filter to keep emails from being flagged as spam: Go to Mail Options > Filters and add a new one. In the "From header:" rule, add the email address and the "Choose Folder" to be your "Inbox".

Gmail:
You can use filters with advanced spam controls. Go to Settings > Filters > Create a new filter and you can add the email address, contact's name, just the domain (e.g., @itworld.com), and other criteria. Check the box "Never send it to Spam".
