| What is Leaving a Community? |

| Leaving a Community is the action a member takes to voluntarily end their membership in a specific community while remaining part of the Workspace. |
A member can leave a community they belong to at any time, from either the Profile page or the Workspace Homepage. Leaving a community ends the member's association with that specific community without affecting their overall Workspace membership.
Role Permissions
- All Roles (Administrators, Moderators & Members): Can leave the community at any time from the Profile page or the Workspace Homepage.
- Workspace Owner: Do not get the option to leave the community.

Steps to Leave a Community
- Navigate to the Profile page or the Workspace Homepage and locate the Your Communities section listing communities the member belongs to.

- Select the Leave link beside the community to be left. A dialog box opens to confirm the action.
- Type Remove in the confirmation field to verify the membership removal.
- If a copy of the community data is needed, select the Export Profile Data checkbox before confirming the leaving.
Once the removal is confirmed, the member is no longer part of that specific community.
Note: Leaving a community only removes the member's community membership. The member remains part of the Workspace.
If the Export Profile Data checkbox was selected, the member receives an email containing the exported data.
Rejoining a Community
A member who has left a community may choose to rejoin it at a later time. They can find the communities they have left under Profile >> Settings >> Your Communities >> Communities You've Left
Click on the Join Community button to rejoin.
See Exceptions below for details on which submissions, activity, and rights are retained upon rejoining.
Exceptions
- Rejoining After Leaving: Submissions and activity completed prior to leaving are retained if the member rejoins the community. Any Community Administrator or Moderator rights previously held are not retained and must be reassigned again after rejoining.

If the Export Profile Data checkbox is selected during the leave process, the member receives an email containing the exported community data.
Is confirmation required to leave a community?
Yes. A dialog box requires typing Remove to confirm the membership removal before it is processed.
