Community Member Management - Groups
Accesses and Settings for Groups
Path: Community Topbar >> Apps icon >> Member Management >> Groups
Groups are useful for organising members according to various characteristics or roles within the community. They can be employed for assigning idea submission, commenting, and idea ownership privileges, or for group-based moderation. Additionally, participation data can be segmented by a group.
Toggle from Members to Groups to access Community Group Management under Communty Member Management.

Create Group
A group can be created with manual and/or automatic member assignment methods.

Add to New Group
Members from different groups can be added to a new group using the Add to New Group option..gif?width=670&height=311&name=Screen-Recording-2025-08-13-at-1%20(1).gif)
The Add to New Group option will not become active unless you select 2 or more groups. Once the groups are selected click on it to open up the group creation pop-up. Enter Group name and other details and click on the Finish button once done.
The assignment method section will not be visible while creating a group this way. It will by default be set to Manual assignment. Workspace admin can change it later by editing the group if needed.
Action Section
The More (3 dots) option under Action column consists of 3 actions - Add member, Add as Administrator and Delete Group if the group was created on the Community level.

1. Add Member: Click on this option to open the Assign Participant pop-up. Members can be added to the group with this option via Import Member from Group or Add Member button..gif?width=670&height=311&name=Screen-Recording-2025-08-13-at-1%20(2).gif)
Note: Add member option will be available only for groups with Manual assignment method enabled.
2. Add as Administrator: Use this option to assign the entire group as a Community or Campaign Group administrator. If any member already has this role, the system shows an alert: “A role is already assigned to a member of this group.” The admin must then either unassign that member and add the whole group, or assign administrators individually from Member Management. If a group is already assigned as admin, the Remove as Administrator option will appear instead.

3. Delete Group: This option can delete a group from Community..gif?width=670&height=311&name=Screen-Recording-2025-08-13-at-1%20(4).gif)
Note: The group will need to be unassigned from all the associated communities before it can be deleted from the Community.
4. Unassign Group: This option can will be visible to groups that are created on the workspace level. The community admin will not be able to add member or delete group..gif?width=670&height=311&name=Screen-Recording-2025-08-13-at-1%20(5).gif)
Search Commands
Search Commands allows to find groups using simple commands from the dropdown. Each filter will have its corresponding values or details to be selected to search for the group meeting the search criteria.
