| Follow/Unfollow Idea Submitter is a feature that lets a member follow or unfollow the submitter of an idea to receive email notifications about that author's future idea submissions. |
The option to follow or unfollow an Idea Submitter is available from both the Home Page and the Idea Details page, accessed through the More icon (3 dots) on an idea.
Role Permissions
- All Roles (Community Administrator, Moderators & Member): Can follow or unfollow the Idea Submitter of any idea from the Home Page or the Idea Details page, unless the submitter's identity is hidden. See Exceptions below.

Follow an Idea Submitter
Selecting Follow Author from the More icon (3 dots) on an idea allows a Member to follow that idea's Idea Author. This option is available from both the Home Page and the Idea Details page.

Unfollow an Idea Submitter
To unfollow an Idea Submitter, the member needs to click on the Unfollow Idea Submitter icon from the More icon (3 dots). Screenshots are also taken from the view of the moderator and member.

Note: Members with hidden identity (appearing as Community Member) cannot be followed.
Email Notification
Once a Member begins following an Idea Submitter an email notification is sent to that Member each time the followed Idea Submitter submits a new idea.
Members Following
A Member can view the list of Idea Submitters currently being followed by navigating to Profile >> About >> Members Followed. This list can be filtered to show results for an individual community or for all communities within the workspace.
Exceptions
- Hidden Identity: An Idea Submitter whose identity is hidden, appearing as Community Member, cannot be followed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Member follow more than one Idea Submitter?
Yes. The Members Followed list under Profile >> About displays every Idea Submitter a Member is currently following, with no restriction to a single idea submitter.
Does unfollowing an Idea Submitter stop future email notifications?
Yes. Email notifications are sent only while a Member is actively following an the Idea Submitter; once unfollowed, that Member no longer receives notifications for that Idea Submitter's new idea submissions.
Can the Members Followed list be filtered?
Yes. The list can be filtered to show results for an individual community or for all communities within the workspace.
