Export Ideas in Idea Portfolio

Idea Portfolio allows the Moderator to export idea details for selected ideas or all ideas into Excel format. Once generated, the exported file is only accessible from the Export Library within the Idea Portfolio section.

Role Permissions

1. Moderator: Can select ideas in Idea Portfolio and export their details to an Excel file, and can choose and order the columns included in the export.
2. Community Administrator, Workspace Administrator: Access to Idea Export in Idea Portfolio

Exporting Ideas

From Idea Portfolio, the Moderator selects the ideas to export, or chooses to export all ideas, and initiates the export.

The Moderator receives a message confirming that the export process has started, followed by a processing message once the export is complete.

Export Library

Once processing is complete, the exported file appears in the Export Library, within the Idea Portfolio section.

Exported File Columns

Every export automatically includes the following columns:

1. Idea URL: The direct link to the idea.
2. Title: The title given to the idea.
3. Idea Number: The unique identifying number assigned to the idea.
4. Date Submitted: The date the idea was submitted.
5. Community: The community the idea belongs to.
6. Campaign: The campaign the idea was submitted to.
7. Stage: The idea's current stage.
8. Time in Location: The amount of time the idea has spent in its current stage.
9. Time Since Last Action: The amount of time elapsed since the idea was last acted upon.
10. Submitter(s): The member or members who submitted the idea.
11. Description: The idea's description.
12. Tags: Any tags applied to the idea.
13. Moderator Tags: Any Moderator Tags applied to the idea.
14. Custom Fields: Any idea custom fields configured for the campaign.

Before exporting, the Moderator can additionally choose to include the following columns:

1. Views: The number of times the idea has been viewed.
2. Net Votes: The idea's net vote count.
3. Comment Count: The number of comments on the idea.
4. Assessment Score: The idea's assessment score.
5. Value Factor: The idea's value factor.
6. Cost Factor: The idea's cost factor.
7. Impact Ratio: The idea's impact ratio.
8. Estimated ROI: The idea's estimated return on investment.
9. Average, High, Medium, and Low Estimated Value: The idea's estimated value figures.
10. Average, High, Medium, and Low Estimated Cost: The idea's estimated cost figures.
11. Fund Target: The funding target set for the idea.
12. Fund Raised: The amount of funding raised for the idea.
13. Number of Funders: The number of members who have funded the idea.
14. Team Member Count: The number of team members associated with the idea.
15. Sentiment: The idea's sentiment score.

Exceptions

1. Column Order: The export always begins with Idea URL, followed by whichever columns the Moderator who initiates the export has selected and ordered in their own Idea Portfolio column adjustment settings

Frequently Asked Questions

In what file format are exported ideas delivered?

Exported ideas are delivered as an Excel file.

Can the Idea URL column be moved or removed from the export?

No. Idea URL always appears as the first column in the export, regardless of how the remaining columns are ordered in the Moderator's Idea Portfolio column adjustment settings.

Are idea custom fields included in the export automatically?

Yes. Any idea custom fields configured for the campaign are included in the export by default, along with the standard columns.

Does every Moderator see the same column selection in an export?

No. The columns beyond the default set, and their order, reflect the column adjustment settings of the Moderator who initiated that specific export.
