Export Idea Tags

Export Idea Tags allows tag data to be retrieved in Microsoft Excel or CSV format for reporting, auditing, or offline analysis. The exported file includes the tag itself along with identifying details about the idea it was added to, such as the idea's title, URL, and submission timestamp.

Role Permissions

1. Community Administrator: Exports idea tag data at the Community level, including selecting the export format, tag scope, timezone, campaign scope, and date range.

Export Settings

From the path above, a Community Administrator configures the following fields before selecting Export Data:

1. Export Format: Idea tag data can be exported as a Microsoft Excel sheet (.xls) or in CSV format.
2. Tags: Selects all tags added within the Community, or a specific tag, to limit the exported data to idea data related to that selection.
3. Timezone: Selects the timezone applied to timestamp values in the exported file.
4. Filter Data: Left disabled, the export includes all data from the Community's start date up to the current date. Enabled, a start date and an end date can be specified to limit the export to that period.
   1. Campaign: Selects the campaign to export data from. Selecting All Campaigns exports data from every campaign, including Archived Campaigns. See Exceptions below for details.

Once the fields are configured, selecting Export Data downloads the file in the selected format.

Exported Fields

The exported file includes the following columns:

1. Tag: The tag added to the idea.
2. Tag Type: Indicates whether the tag is a General tag or a Moderator tag.
3. Tag Submitter: The email address of the Moderator who added the tag. This field is blank for General tags.
4. Idea ID: The unique identification number assigned to the idea.
5. Idea Number: The sequential number assigned to the idea.
6. Idea Title: The title of the idea.
7. Idea URL: The URL of the idea.
8. Timestamp: The date and time the idea was submitted, shown in the timezone selected during export.
9. Idea Author ID: The identification number of the idea's author.

Exceptions

1. All Campaigns Selected: Selecting All Campaigns under Filter Data includes idea tag data from Archived Campaigns in addition to active campaigns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can idea tags be exported for a single tag instead of all tags in the Community?

Yes. The Tags field allows a specific tag to be selected so the exported file includes only idea data related to that tag, rather than every tag in the Community.

Does the exported file distinguish between General and Moderator tags?

Yes. The Tag Type column identifies whether each tag is a General or Moderator tag, and the Tag Submitter column shows the Moderator's email address for Moderator tags.

Are Archived Campaigns included in the exported data?

Only when All Campaigns is selected under the Campaign field. Selecting a specific campaign limits the export to that campaign alone.
