Details on how to view and manage Email logs

Path: Community Settings >> Email Settings >> Email Logs

What are Email Logs?
Email Logs is the section where a Community Administrator can view and manage all email activity for a community, organized into separate views for deliverability testing, individual email transactions, digest emails, and idea-sharing emails.

Email Logs consolidates every category of email activity generated within a community into a single section, divided into four views: Email Reports, Email Delivery Logs, Digest Email Logs, and Idea Sharing Email. Each view surfaces different details depending on the type of email activity being reviewed.

Email Delivery Logs

When email settings are being configured, or unexpected email behavior needs investigating, the Email Delivery Log provides deeper visibility into the underlying email transactions. It displays detailed information for any activity that generates an email.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Email Reports and Email Delivery Logs?

Email Reports contain the log entries generated each time the Deliverability Test is run. Email Delivery Logs provide more detailed, transaction-level information for any activity within the community that generates an email, whether or not it was part of a Deliverability Test.

Why might a given week be missing from the Digest Email Log?

If no idea or comment was submitted in the community during that week, no weekly digest email is triggered, so no entry appears in the Digest Email Log for that week.

How can it be confirmed whether a shared idea's email reached its recipients?

The Idea Sharing Email log displays, for each shared idea, whether any of the emails sent to its recipients bounced, allowing delivery success to be confirmed on a per-share basis.
