What are Dynamic Custom Fields and Sections?
---
Sections separate custom fields within the Idea Submission Form, and Dynamic Sections add conditional custom fields based on the answers given to specific linked fields.
Sections and Dynamic Sections control how custom fields are grouped and revealed on the Idea Submission Form. Sections group related custom fields together under a common title. Dynamic Sections build on this by using the answer given to a linked field to determine which Section is displayed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Sections
A Section is a box used to separate custom fields within the Idea Submission Form. A Section can be given a title, the same as any other element in the Idea Submission Form.

Sections Setup
To create a Section, the Section block is dragged and dropped into the Submission Form template. Selecting Edit allows the Section to be named and user instructions to be added.

Once the Section is created, custom fields are dragged and dropped within the box.

Note: A Section cannot be removed while it still contains custom fields. See Exceptions below.
Dynamic Sections
After Sections are created, Dynamic Sections can be created to further segregate custom fields according to the answer selected, linking each answer to a related Section.

Note: Making a Section dynamic requires a single-choice or multiple-choice custom field in the Idea Submission Form to link responses to the individual Section.
Dynamic Sections Setup
To configure a Dynamic Section, a single-choice or multiple-choice custom field is added to the Submission Form. Adding this type of field enables specific answer options to be linked to different Sections. After the field is added, a Link Section area appears directly below it. For each answer option in the field, a dropdown is available to select the Section to link to that particular response.

Note: A Section must have a name in order to be linked.
On the front end of the Idea Submission Form, the Section linked to the answer option selected by the idea submitter is displayed.

Exceptions
- Removing a Section: A Section cannot be removed while it still contains custom fields. The custom fields must be removed from the Section first, after which the system allows the Section to be removed.
