Enabling and customizing community image
Path: Profile dropdown >> Edit Mode >> Banner Image
Customize Community Images allows the Community Administrator to configure the visual identity of a community by setting a Banner Image, a Thumbnail Image, and a Community Logo. These images are configured through Edit Mode, accessed from the Profile Dropdown while viewing the Community Homepage.
Role Permissions
- Community Administrator: Selects, uploads, and configures the Banner Image, Thumbnail Image, and Community Logo for the community through Edit Mode.
Banner Image
The Banner Image appears on the Community Homepage and is configured from Edit Mode, accessed through the Profile Dropdown. It allows the Community Administrator to select a banner that represents the community.
Selecting a Banner from the Options
IdeaScale provides a number of default Banner Image options to choose from. The Community Administrator selects the option that best suits the community's theme.

Uploading a Custom Banner
To set a custom or company Banner Image, the Community Administrator uploads an image file to the Community File Library. Once uploaded, the image appears in the banner selection dropdown for future use. The image file can also be added by dragging and dropping it directly into the designated upload area.

- Banner Gradient: Applies a grey gradient over the Banner Image, or keeps the image clear and gradient-free.
- Show Page Title in Black: By default, the page title displays in white. Switching this on changes the page title color to black, for better contrast against the Banner Image.
Note: SVG images are not supported for the Banner Image. See Exceptions below.
