      Clone idea

      Details on how to clone idea to same or different community/campaign

      Path: Idea Management >> Action tab >> Clone
      Path: Idea management >> Moderate idea (Hammer icon) >> Clone

      An idea can be cloned within the same community as well as to a new community by the Community Moderator.

      The idea can be cloned in the Idea Management using Moderate idea (Hammer icon) or Action Tab. To have Clone option appear under Action tab, Community moderator will have to select the idea first. Note: Clone option under Action tab will appear for single idea selection only.

      Cloning can be done in following ways: A. Same Community, Same Funnel B. Same Community, Different Funnel, and C. Different Community. Lets see these scenerios in detail.

      1. Same Community, Same Funnel

      Community Moderator can clone an idea within the same community and same funnel. It can be done for the same campaign or a different campaign within the same funnel.

      Steps to follow

      1. Select the idea and click on Clone option from Moderate idea or Action tab.
      2.  A new modal will open up. Select To this community option.
      3. Under Campaign downdown select the new campaign from same funnel. The same campaign can be selected as well if the moderator want to clone the idea in same campaign.
      4. Choose the Stage name to place the cloned idea in.
      5. Click on the Save button once done.

      2. Same Community, Different Funnel

      Community Moderator can clone an idea within the same community to a campaign from another funnel. The steps to be followed for it are same as Same community, Same funnel, but instead for a campaign from same funnel, select a different funnel's campaign.

      • Co-submitters

      Elements not cloned

      • Moderator tags
      • Campaign tags
      • Idea custom fields
      • Attachment
      • Linked Ideas
      • Anonymity of idea

      Note: The cloned idea will be inaccessible to the Idea submitter if they do not have permission to access the Community and Campaign where the idea is cloned.

      3. Different Community

      To clone an idea into a different community within the same Workspace is now possible.

      Steps to follow

      1. Select the idea and click on Clone option from Moderate idea or Action tab.
      2.  A new modal will open up. Select To a new community option.
      3. Under Community dropdown, select the community where idea should be cloned.
      4. Under Campaign downdown select the campaign of the new community where idea needs to be cloned. 
      5. Choose the Stage name to place the cloned idea in.
      6. Click on the Save button once done.
