Clone idea

An idea can be cloned within the same community, or into a different community within the same Workspace. Cloning is available from the Idea Portfolio using the More option for a single idea, or from the Moderate idea or Action tab when cloning to a different community.

Role Permissions

1. Community Moderator: Clones an idea within the same community — to the same campaign, a different campaign in the same funnel, or a campaign in a different funnel — and into a different community within the same Workspace.
2. Workspace Administrator, Community Administrator, Custom Administrator: Would be also able to clone ideas.

The idea can be cloned in the Idea Portfolio using More option (for single idea).

1. Same Community, Same Funnel

The Community Moderator can clone an idea within the same community and the same funnel, placing it in the same campaign or a different campaign within that funnel.

Steps to Follow

1. Select Clone from the More button for the idea to be cloned.
2. In the modal that opens, select To This Community.
3. Under the Campaign dropdown, select the destination campaign from the same funnel. The same campaign can also be selected to clone the idea within it.
4. Select the Stage where the cloned idea should be placed.
5. Select Save.

2. Same Community, Different Funnel

The Community Moderator can clone an idea within the same community into a campaign belonging to a different funnel. The steps are the same as Same Community, Same Funnel, except a campaign from a different funnel is selected under the Campaign dropdown instead of one from the same funnel.

3. Different Community

Cloning an idea into a different community within the same Workspace is available.

Steps to Follow

1. Select the idea, then select Clone from the Moderate idea or Action tab.
2. In the modal that opens, select To A New Community.
3. Under the Community dropdown, select the community where the idea should be cloned.
4. Under the Campaign dropdown, select the campaign within the new community where the idea should be cloned.
5. Select the Stage where the cloned idea should be placed.
6. Select Save.

Exceptions

1. Idea Submitter Access: If the idea submitter does not have permission to access the community and campaign where the idea is cloned, the cloned idea is inaccessible to that submitter. This applies to cloning under Same Community, Different Funnel and Different Community.
