[Workflow](https://help.ideascale.com/campaign-management?hsLang=en#workflow) # Assessment Stage Rating Calculation ## Assessment Stage Rating Calculation ***Path: Workspace Homepage \>\> Navigation Panel \>\> Campaign Management \>\> Workflow \>\> Assessment Stage*** | What is Assessment Stage Rating Calculation? | | --- | | Assessment Stage Rating Calculation is the methodology IdeaScale uses to convert evaluators' star ratings on assessment questions into an idea's overall rating during the Assessment stage. | In the Assessment stage, each idea is evaluated against a set of assessment questions, with the number of questions and the number of evaluators assigned varying by campaign. Evaluators rate every assessment question on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, and the platform aggregates those ratings into a single overall rating for the idea using the calculation described below. --- ### Role Permissions 1. Community Administrator: Configures the assessment questions for the stage and determines how many evaluators are requested to assess each idea. 2. One evaluator rates both assessment questions 5 stars. That evaluator's Individual Idea Rating is 5 + 5 = 10. Another evaluator rates one assessment question 3 stars and the other 2 stars. That evaluator's Individual Idea Rating is 3 + 2 = 5. Dividing by the 2 assessment questions gives an Idea Rating of 5 / 2 = 2.5 for that evaluator. Adding the two evaluators' Idea Ratings together gives a total of 5 + 2.5 = 7.5. NA Selected as an Answer: The corresponding assessment question is removed from the rating calculation and does not factor into the idea's score. --- ### Frequently Asked Questions #### What rating scale do evaluators use for assessment questions? Evaluators rate each assessment question on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. #### How is an individual evaluator's Idea Rating calculated? An evaluator's star ratings across all assessment questions are added together, then divided by the number of assessment questions. #### How is an idea's overall Idea Rating calculated? Each evaluator's Individual Idea Rating is added together, then divided by the number of evaluators who submitted an assessment for the idea. #### What happens if an evaluator selects NA for an assessment question? That question is removed from the calculation and does not factor into the idea's score. See Exceptions above. #### Where can completed assessment details be exported?
